How to Achieve Hollywood Waves
First, part the hair as desired end result, for this style I normally go for a side part, to add the extra VA VA VOOM factor.
Now that the hair is parted, start on your dominant side and take 1-inch sections. (if you have medium to coarse hair you should subsection top to bottom. This will ensure the S factor you’re looking to create.)
Wrap the hair around the wand vertically and hold for about 3 seconds (or once the hair starts to feel warm from the outside) remove the wand and immediately pin the section away (ideal pins are updo pins for this style, bobby pins are too thin and will cause flyaways.)
Continue to curl the hair all around the head in the same direction throughout.
If you have bangs or a fringe, you can wrap that portion towards the face and pin away. Once the hair has completely cooled, gently remove the hair pins, touching the hair as minimum as possible, this will help avoid frizz.
Spritz your hair with hairspray and once dried, use a dressing brush to brush out the curls. You will use a top to bottom motion on each section. As you brush shape the hair with your hands to create the S wave, style as desired and finish off with your favorite hair spray for that extra hold!
